Taking place 22-26 July 2024, the trailblazing event will see global aerospace and defence leaders return to Hampshire, United Kingdom, for five days of unrivalled opportunities to discover the latest pioneering technology and engineering, announce historic partnerships, and collaboratively work towards the cumulative sustainable aerospace vision.
Following the resounding success of the 2022 event, which welcomed more than 74,000 professionals from 102 countries, including more than 250 official government and civil delegations, and racked up billions in global media reach, this year’s airshow will demonstrate the future of the industry and represent the apex of aviation.
Global leaders, including Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, RTX, GKN and GE Aviation, will be exhibiting their latest aircraft, innovations and technology at the event.
Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, said: “The Farnborough International Airshow is more than a five-day, biennial event – it’s a change agent, powering excellence and innovation across the global aerospace and defence industries.
“The interest from global businesses to exhibit and attend the airshow has been phenomenal, and reflects the incredible demand there is from leaders to showcase their technology at our imitable platform and revolutionise the next era of the industry. I look forward to welcoming the world’s biggest, best and brightest to Farnborough in July this year.”
The 2024 event will see the return of the award-winning Aerospace Global Forum (AGF), the global platform that aims to champion change and drive immediate action, accelerating transition to the net-zero economy. AGF will host high-level keynote sessions from leaders across the aerospace ecosystem dedicated to sustainability and defence. In addition, thought leadership, provoking talks, panel discussions and insight sharing will take place across the show floor at the Space and FINN Theatres, as well as the Global Urban Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) taking place on Thursday.
The Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) is debuting in the Farnborough International Airshow flying and static display with its new F-16 Dannebrog aircraft.
The ‘Dannebrog’ has been out of the sky for over six months and a new F-16 aircraft with the tail number E-006 has been selected to succeed the E-191, which is now in military grey and heading to support Ukraine. The theme for the E-006 is still the Dannebrog, but in a new and refreshed livery scheme, which also includes elements celebrating the 50th anniversary of the F-16 aircraft type’s first flight in 1974. In addition to displaying the Danish flag at global events, similarly to the E-191, the E-006 will spend a majority of its time on training missions and operational tasks.
Discussing the RDAF’s debut, Captain Troels K. Dehli Vang, said: “We are incredibly excited to be flying and attending the Farnborough International Airshow for the first time. To be able to fly our flag with our new Danneborg in the UK at the most international airshow in the world is a proud moment for the Royal Danish Air Force.”

The RDAF F-16 will be on display every day at FIA2024.
Features of the five-day airshow will include the Space Zone showcasing the newest technology and launch operators in the market, Business Connections Exchange programme matching buyers and investors with vetted suppliers, and the networking Business Lounge sponsored by Lockheed Martin. In addition, the final day will open its doors to the Pioneers of Tomorrow, a dedicated STEM-focused day open to the public to inspire and engage the next generation of aerospace, space, defence and technology leaders. With a focus on expanding its digital experience, as well as physical, of the world-renowned show, Farnborough International is developing its live streaming capabilities to be launched for the 2024 instalment.
Farnborough International Airshow celebrated 75 years of pioneering aviation and innovation on 7 September 2023.
It was in 1948 that The Society of British Aircraft Constructors (SBAC), chose Farnborough as its new home for its growing airshow. The first event took place between the 7th-12th of September 1948 which featured sixty-six different British aircraft, including the launch of the Cierva W.II Air Horse, across the static and flying display.
Since its launch, Farnborough has been the home of historic firsts for the aerospace industry, including the launch of the world’s first jet airliner de Havilland DH.106 Comet 1 in 1949, The Black Arrows’ record-breaking 22-aircraft formation loop in 1958, BAC-Aerospatiale Concorde’s triumphant Farnborough debut in 1970 with a low fly pass over spectators and the Airbus A380 debut in 2006.
Fast forward 75 years, the Farnborough International Airshow is a catalyst for the evolution of the aerospace industry and is the global platform for showcasing technological breakthroughs and feats of engineering. It is also where historic partnerships are made, and goals such as sustainable aviation are pursued. The iconic airshow convenes more than 74,000 global aerospace, political and military leaders plus international media, from over 100 countries, in the very same location as the first event three quarters of a century ago.
A firm date in the global calendar, the airshow continues to generate the support and interest of world-renowned organisations and groups, including Airbus, Boeing, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies), Leonardo, Bell, GE, the Royal Air Force, US Air Force, as well as international governments.
